In our Faces on the Co-operators series, we speak to young co-operators who share their passion for promoting the well-being of the communities where we live and work.
In this fifth post of the Faces of Co-operators series, we feature 21-year-old Koh Liwen, who just graduated from Republic Polytechnic with a Diploma of Social Enterprise Management on 2 May 2018. She joined Singapore National Co-operative Federation (SNCF) under the Campus and Youth team in Septemeber 2017 to February 2018.
Here is an article about her internship journey, by her.
Here is my internship journey in short:
Starting off with a fun fact, SNCF is the first ever company I have worked in my life 🙂
I would say I’m very lucky to be able to help out in YOCO Camp 2017 and learn new things such as how to use software (Illustrator & InDesign), create booklets, create EDMs and preparing many other event day collaterals etc. That interests me to know more about Marketing!
Honestly, I enjoyed that busy period each day we’re closer to the event day. It gives me a sense of accomplishment whenever I completed tasks on hand because it shows that we’re all one step closer to getting all prepared!
YOCO Camp 2017, success!
Throughout the five months here, I have written articles on YOCO Camp, youth-related articles and scholarship articles etc. which I felt has helped improve my style of writing and flow of content.
To the person who posted a positive comment on one of the articles I wrote, thank you! It surely has given me the motivation to improve 🙂
SNCF does have visitors coming for visitation to know about co-operative in Singapore. I was lucky enough to join in my team to host a representative from Korean Federation of University Co-operatives (KFUC), which their objective was to learn about campus co-operatives in Singapore. Together, we went for a tour around many different campus co-operatives/coop clubs which I myself have learnt a lot about their interesting business model and student’s journey as a member.
After YOCO Camp 2017 comes the planning for SCOOP Trail 2018 – An amazing race event for participants to have fun while learning about co-operatives!
Last but not least, I am glad to be able to meet so many friendly and helpful people here!
I’m thankful for the fulfilling 5 months and guidance received. Thank you SNCF!
