I am amazed! I can traverse seamlessly between Terminal 1 and Jewel and between nature and retail, and I have to say thumbs up for the latest kid on the block – Jewel. Step into Jewel, you will be greeted by the 40-metre high indoor waterfall – the Rain Vortex. Come night, this world’s tallest indoor waterfall will be transformed into a mesmerising light and sound show. Unfortunately, yours truly didn’t stay till night to capture this insta-worthy photo.

The Canopy Park attractions are located at the topmost level of Jewel. I wanted to try navigating my way out of the tricky Hedge Maze or walking on a glass-bottom Canopy Bridge which suspended 23 metres above the ground, alas I didn’t have the chance to do so. The attractions were really hot – long queues. Guess that I will have to wait till mid 2019 when the Canopy Park attractions are open to public.
This new complex has more than 200 shops, a hotel, a multi-screen cinema and 14,000 square metre of indoor gardens. And if you are ever hungry, fret no. There are more than 100 eateries for you to relish. From well-known New York burger Chain Shake Shack and London Burger & Lobster restaurant to beloved fast food chain A&W which made its way back to Singapore after more than 10 years, you will be spoilt for choice.
A&W Singapore has a view of the Rain Vortex waterfall but it does not have a lot of seats sadly.

Shake Shack was sadly not open for business when I was there.

Do you know that there is a co-operative in Jewel as well?
Yes. It is NTUC FairPrice Co-operative!
Founded by the labour movement in 1973 with the social mission to moderate the cost of living, NTUC FairPrice Co-Operative is the largest supermarket chain in Singapore. It has a network of over 200 outlets comprising FairPrice supermarkets, FairPrice Shop, FairPrice Finest, FairPrice Xtra and Unity Pharmacies. NTUC FairPrice Co-Operative also has a convenience arm comprising a network of over 200 FairPrice Express and Cheers convenience stores. Its multiple retail formats serve the varied needs and interests of people from all walks of life.
My crystal ball tells me that Jewel will become the meeting point for all gatherings for the next few months when all the shops are fully open for business from May onwards. See you if I see you at Jewel!
