YOCO Camp 2017, where we bring students from various secondary schools together for a 2-day camp where they get to learn more about digital marketing. Throughout this camp, they get to learn how digital marketing can be applied to a co-operative model and are groomed to be leaders of the co-operative movement.
Let us walk through the journey of YOCO Camp 2017 now!
Day 1
The most important meal of the day, breakfast! Here we have our heroes having their breakfast sponsored by NTUC Foodfare before they get all ready to prep themselves to solve their mission kit.
Finally! The event officially starts. We have prepared a Breakout Session by getting all teams to draw an image of what they think NTUC Fairprice does. Our MCs have then chosen a few teams to come down on stage to share with the audiences on the reasons why they drew those images.
(Team on the left described their drawing as 24hr NTUC Fairprice selling essential goods // Team on the right described their drawing as NTUC Fairprice having a fair price for the goods they are selling)
Now we have the session on Talks by Industry Professionals, where our 6 invited speakers have shared about various marketing strategies such as overview of digital strategy, SEO, SEM, influencer marketing, branding, clickbait etc.
Followed by a Panel Discussion led by Mr Jed Senthil, the Team Leader of Campus & Youth team and an exclusive Q&A session for the students.
Many questions were posted on Slido and we would like to take this chance to thank our students for the questions and apologise for not being able to address some of it due to the limited time that we have.
We still hope that questions that were replied to by our 6 speakers have answered our Heroes queries.
Proceeding to Ideation Workshop & Presentation Preparation, our Heroes flew off to their assigned classrooms to start brainstorming for digital marketing ideas for their 1st pitching the next day. Trainers, facilitators and a representative for each affiliates were present in each room to help guide our Heroes in the process of brainstorming.
We were all so delighted to see all our Heroes putting in so much effort into solving their mission kit. Keep up the good working attitude!
Day 2
Rise and shine! Our Heroes went on to finalise their presentation slides after breakfast and started their 1st round of pitching… This will determine which 8 teams will be the finalists to pitch their ideas to the finale judges in the afternoon.
Cheers and claps can be heard from the front to the end of the lecture hall, good to see that all the teams were so excited for the results!
Here is the crucial moment! We have our 8 finalists touching up on their slides and ready for the Final Round Pitch to the finale judges.
Presenting to you, the top 5 teams:
(Consolation: Team Iris)
(Consolation: Team Queenswayians)
(2nd runner up: Team Chicken Wing)
(1st runner up: Team Blss_2)
(Champion: Team VS)
Kudos! Your hard work has paid off. To the rest of the teams who have participated in YOCO Camp 2017, don’t be discouraged for not being able to win the top 5 prizes. Treat this as a learning opportunity to help you grow your knowledge and better apply them in future. You guys can do it!
